People rushed to corner car washes to cleanse salt and dirt from their vehicles. Tigers fans emerged on the downtown streets, clad in navy blue and orange. Self-proclaimed gardeners geared up for Eastern Market’s annual Flower Day, hoping for bragging rights on great deals for flats of their favorite blossoms. Spring was shaking Detroit awake."
